Two Good Weeks...

So, we've come to the discouraged portion of our program....I've gone a whole week with no weight loss...I realize this is normal as I'm retaining water and craving chocolate - and we all know what that means. But, it doesn't make it any easier...tomorrow is my official weigh-in day and I'm trying to not force myself to fast all day and just treat this like a normal day. Because, in the scheme of things, I know weeks like this will come.

I feel like, the older I get, I have about 2 good "weight loss" weeks a month and the other 2 are just about holding on until the next 2 weeks come. It's frustrating, but I know that in the long run, it has to keep coming off. I am eating less and being more active....I feel better, I have more energy so it's all good - If I can just get through these 2 weeks to the next 2....

You can do it! I totally get you, and you're right--your body WILL snap out of it.

P.S. Maybe you need to get rid of your scale, I mean--only weigh on your scheduled day. Mine doesn't weigh accurately--it's cheap. So, I just quit weighing during the week, trying to guess, and I gotta' say--it's nerve wracking, but it's pretty "fun" (did I actually say weighing is FUN?!) on Saturday mornings to see my progress. Even bracing for a weight gain. . .I don't know, it's kind of like Christmas morning every week. And the part I like the best--I'm not beating myself up all week over numbers that don't mean so much in the long run, as long as I keep doing this.

Try it?

Yeah, I've tried that...and I haven't weighed every day this week...but I do weird things mentally when I only weigh once a week - my expectations get out of control and I think "I have to have lost 5 lbs, right?" Then I'm even more disappointed when I only lose 1, even though 1 is a lot! So I don't know what the answer is...I know I gain water weight around this time of the month...I just handle it better some days than others! :)I know overall the scale's going down...it's just so much harder the older I get which sucks!! So kids, lose the weight when you're young, that's my free advise for the day! :)
